Black Butte is lower down from Mt. Shasta, very much smaller. But Black Butte has it's own fascinating presence over our town. There are many stories about Black Butte and speculations from travelers about how it was formed and what it may be concealing. I know that I love watching it and photographing it. Sometimes it makes me think of Shangri-La, the fabled hidden place. I have more photos coming up soon .
