Special Angels

Not all Gods angels wear
feathery white wings.

Sometimes they are little black
furry things.

They are always waiting
for strokes with a yearn.

But unqualified love is
what we get in return.

Warm, cuddly kisses,
a nudge on a nose.

Our constant companions
wherever we go.

Through thick and through thin,

they weather our storms,
In the sadness of times,
It's their love...keeps us warm.

Gods little angels come in many
kinds of disguise

for humans to see and open their eyes.
Fate has a destiny, a time and a place.

Here, then they're gone......
with whiskery face.

I like to think
there's a cat heaven for angels like these,

mission accomplished,
with love, they have pleased
.

Tout L'Amour

Princess the cat,
in black velvet fur
decided one night
soon she must stir.
Tiny feet dancing
into the street
daring a heartache,
her prince she must meet.
Drawn by the music
and his soft mewling,
her paws pattered faster
her senses not ruling.
Flashing dark shadows
followed her there,
maddening laughter..
she knew not from where.
Mon dieu, mon amour
she cried out in fear,
repeating his name
till futility o'er came her.
Closer and louder
she heard his sweet voice,
turning back home..
she had little choice.
Bathed by the moonlight
her love she did spy,
he gathered her closely
and together they'd lie.
Comforting love
till morning awakened
by dawn and the dampness
their true love was taken.
Bidding adieu
to her life's only pleasure,
she followed the rooftops
each jump she must
measure.
Home then and safe
in that tiny warm bed,
Princess the cat...
laid down her head.

        A Tale of a Cat

I'll tell you the tail/tale
of a big, black cat
fell in my bath,
and that was that!
Crying for hours,
you'd think she'd drowned
with meows and hollers,
not, just upside down.
Now cat is clean,
she'll roll in the dirt
with best intentions,
why it can't hurt!
My sanctuary is safe,
until she forgets,
that balancing act
will get her wet.
Then, there'll be a hoop
and then, a yeowler,
and lots of bubbly
water to swoller.

  Indecision

Creeping
along the rail..

The cat
spies a mouse.

Eyes......
darting this way
and that.

Not sure
which path to take.

To the roadside...
to the fields?

Around the cat...
Hoping to avoid
......its' claws.

Or, merrily....
down the rail.

Until the next train      rumbles.

forces another decision.

......The Cat...Pounces!..

mittens

ceaselessly...her purring
enters my ears,
relentlessly her body
clamors for attention.
little paws knead in
ancient instincts,
shredding my bed.
endless conversations
tiny meow talk
say, mommy, feed me..
pet me, love me.
comforting, warm..
whenever I am sick,
or sad.
you overwhelm me.
you invite my laughter
with your playful antics,
chasing imaginary mice,
and with acrobatic feats,
I cannot imagine how.
paws extended,
you play with my pen
chasing around
until in desperation,
I beg you to quit.
oh mittens, bright spirit,
how you steal your way
into my heart..
sweet friend,
I love you..
